This weeks game was for the first round of the League cup and the boys were away to Croydon Athletic who are from the B division. For a change the Eagles started well and after a few minutes Benjamin broke well down the left and crossed to Matt.Bw who drove an unstoppable shot into the top right hand corner. Croydon equalised within a few minutes but the first half ended 2-1 Perrywood after Matt.Bx broke down the right and cut in to beat the keeper at the near post.

The second half was more even with croydon pushing forward and putting us under pressure and eventually this paid off with an equaliser after we didn't clear from a corner. Perrywood had several good breaks with Matt and Matt, but were unable to add to the score, either just missing or being saved. It was from one of the saves that we scored from the resulting corner, as the instructed low corner paid off from Josh.W as a croydon defender put into his own net for 3-2. Ross looked lively and came close but we added the fourth and final goal after a long throw by Joe enable Josh.H to cross for Jake to score.

Onward and upward into the next round, well done boys.

On an unseasonally very hot October day, round 1 of the County Cup proved to be a nail biting game. Within minutes of the kick off Frimley had taken the lead but Perrywood bounced back immediately with an almost identical play and corner at the other end enabling Jake to level the scores at 1-1. Frimley were the dominant side for most of the first half and Perrywood had to work hard and defend well to keep them out. Some great saves by Jack meant the score remained 1-1 at half time.

Perrywood came out battling in the second half and the play evened up. It was then Perrywood's turn to take the lead with Matt Br converting another corner to make it 2-1. Some good attacking football and end to end play followed but with only 10 minutes remaining Frimley were awarded a free kick on the edge of the penalty area, which they scored to level the game at 2-2. They then took their advantage and immediately scored another to take the lead 2-3. Time was running out but Perrywood did not give up and they pushed up and won a corner, which Jay headed into the net to make it 3-3 and put the game into extra time.

Extra time and Perrywood, buoyed by their last minute recovery, took the game to Frimley. Jay scored his second with a neatly placed shot in the bottom right corner to give Perrywood back the lead 4-3 and Michael then scored from a free kick on the edge of the penalty area to make the score 5-3. Frimley fought on and without some good defending and a couple of amazingly athletic saves from Jack it might well have been a different story, but, after a well played game, the place in the 2nd round belonged to Perrywood. Final score 5-3.

The team were missing a few boys today and we only managed to field the bare eleven but still started brightly with Jay opening the scoring from Michaels corner. Chislehurst then equalised before Josh.W was taken out for a penalty which Michael scored. Josh.H then scored the third before Josh.W added the fourth, and thats how the first half finished.

The second half was pretty all one way but the game got very scrappy and Perrywood could not add to the score line.

Welcome to a new season. Still in Tandridge B League but following a bit of a league reorganisation the boys are up against a variety of known and not so known opponents. Also a big welcome to the new boys who have joined Perrywood this season

The Eagles started off really well and within a minute Matt Br scored his debut league goal for the team to put Perrywood in front. Genesis had some good players and played well in the centre of the field - but with only 10boys, Perrywood took their advantage. Benjamin set up both Matt Bx and Matt Br to make it 2-0 and 3-0 respectively and before half time Matt Br had grabbed his debut hat-trick and Matt Bx his second. Although Genesis remained dangerous on the break, some good defending from Charlie, Joe, Adam and Sam and some confident saves from Jake meant the boys kept a clean sheet to leave the score 5-0 at half time.

Into the 2nd half and Ross, also making his league debut, came on as substitute. Although Michael added a 6th and Jack D a 7th it was not all one way and in a lax moment the Eagles were unable to prevent Genesis from scoring their only goal of the game. The Eagles then responded with Benjamin adding goal 8. As the game neared the end a foul outside the box gave Perrywood a free kick just outside the box. Michael took the kick which flew over the wall and bounced down off the bar. Although Josh was waiting to just hit the ball into the net the linesman confirmed that Michael's shot had bounced down across the line resulting in a final score of 9-1 to the Eagles. A fantastic start to the season.
